What's red, hot, orange and green? Try the salsas at Garcia's Mexican Food.
It's orange and it's beautiful, but it is also hot, hot hot!
This is the habanero hot sauce at Garcia's Mexican Food, 842 Fredericksburg Road. Spoon it over your huevos Mexicana and singe your tongue! We love it, but Garcia's offers more - in fact, this small but ultra-popular restaurant is becoming a salsa haven. In addition to the habanero chile salsa, freshly ground jalapeños are the table condiment. Then, there's a house-prepared green salsa (we call it green slime of death, but in a nice way). And, if you want something a little tomato-y and warm, temperature wise, they'll bring you some of the salsa ranchera.
And don't argue with us about this: If you've never been to Garcia's before, order a brisket taco and a pork chop taco your first time in. You'll wonder where these treasures have been all your life.
