Big’z Hosts Fundraiser to Benefit Ill Worker

Print Friendly

Big’z Burger Joint, 2303 N. Loop 1604 W., is hosting a fundraiser Wednesday to benefit one of its managers, Bob Stern, who is suffering from brain cancer.

According to owner Lauren Stanley, Stern is currently “being cared for by his wife and brother who both work full-time. As Bob is now confined to a wheelchair, he requires assistance with every facet of his day. It is our goal to raise funds to hire a licensed caregiver to relieve the family a few days a week. Health insurance does not cover any home health care. We believe this will make a huge difference to Bob and his family as they all struggle with this debilitating illness.”

Thirty percent of all sales that day, from burgers to house-made chips, will go to Stern, and additional donations will be accepted that day.

Big’z will be open Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call (210) 408-2029 or click here for more.
