NIOSA Recipe: What’s Smoother Than a Banana Smoothie?

Print Friendly

The banana smoothie at NIOSA

We’ll answer our own question by saying few things in life are smoother. Maybe George Clooney in a tux.

The banana smoothie can be found at A Night in Old San Antonio in the Arneson River Theatre area. We like the fact that you can easily substitute mangoes or strawberries for the bananas in this recipe. Or, put some of all three in the blender.

If you want to make your own smoothie instead of battling the crowds at NIOSA or if you have a hankering for the smoothie after NIOSA is over on Friday, here’s the recipe.

Banana Smoothies

3-4 bananas (or substitute 1 cup strawberries or 3/4 of a 10-ounce can sliced mangoes or 1 cup fresh sliced mango)
2 cups crushed ice
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon white vanilla (or regular vanilla)
1/4 cup sugar

Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with a strawberry or other fresh berry or fruit.

Makes 4 smoothies.
