If you can’t go to Provence, you can still find some delicious tastes from the South of France at Fig Tree Restaurant, 515 Villita Street, on the River Walk.
Through July 31, the four-course tasting menu, A Taste of Provence, will be offered prix fixe at $48 per person. For an additional $12, you can also have a wine tasting along with the meal of Provençal wines.
The appetizer is a choice of Vegetable Terrine or Zucchini Blossom Beignets, with optional wine, Chateau Routas Rosé Var 2008. The first course is either Blue Prawn Provençal or Grilled Mediterranean Sea Bass. The wine chosen to go with this course is Mas de la Dame Rosé du Mas 2009.
The main course is a choice between Pan-seared, Herb-marinated Lamb Tenderloin or Grilled Lamb Chops with Roasted Garlic Crème, with the optional wine, Mas de la Dame Rouge 2006.
For dessert choose between Hill Country Peach Croustade or Poached Fruit of the Day a la mode.
