Best Recipes of 2010: From Pot Roast and Pulled Pork to Pimento Cheese

Print Friendly

These Mexican Chocolate Crackle Cookies (center) have it all, deep, sweet chocolate flavor, slightly crunchy texture on the outside, tender on the inside.

Generally this time of year we’re thinking about what is “in” as far as food, wine and dining for the upcoming year. We hear that cupcakes have had their day, for example, but that pudding or pie, depending on the speaker, is the new best comfort food. For our money, though, the recipe below for Mexican Chocolate Crackle Cookies was one of the sweetest of the bunch.

Without further ado, here is our list of 17 recipes we liked a lot in 2010.  While we are admitted comfort food addicts, we also love something new and inventive, chefs who recreate standards with their own touches and cookbook authors, such as Steven Raichlen, who took the concept of T-bone steaks on the grill to a very basic level.

Enjoy, and have a tasty new year!
