Decorating Cookies Is Easy Family Fun

Print Friendly

Decorating Easter cookies is really easy and can be a lot of fun for children of any age, as Lynn Townsend of Choco Patisserie, 13523 Nacogdoches Road, shoes in this video clip.

The best thing about decorating is that if you don’t like what you’ve done, just scrape it off and redecorate it. So, just have fun.

Here’s the recipe for the icing:

Royal Icing

2 large egg whites
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
3 cups powdered sugar, sifted

In the bowl of your electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), beat the egg whites with the lemon juice until combined. Add the sifted powdered sugar and beat on low speed until combined and smooth. The icing needs to be used immediately or transferred to an airtight container as royal icing hardens when exposed to air. Cover with plastic wrap when not in use.
