Crumpets Restaurant & Bakery, 3920 Harry Wurzbach, will showcase the wines of Chile’s Marques de Casa Concha at a dinner set for 7 p.m. May 20.
The winery is owned by Spain’s Concha y Toro. These single-vineyard wines reflect the progress in grape growing and wine making that has taken place in Chile in recent years.
The meal begins with the full-flavored Marques de Casa Concha Merlot, a lightly herbal wine, paired with Baked Brie with Toasted Almonds. Then chef François Maeder pairs his Crab Cake with Rémoulade and the creamy texture of the Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay.
Next, the Marques de Casa Concha Carmenère is served alongisde Belgian Endive Salad with Prosciutto. For the main course, Beef Tenderloin and Green Peppercorn Sauce is partnered with the well-honed tannins of the Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon.
For dessert, the delicately sweet Late Harvest Frontera Sauvignon Blanc dessert wine pairs perfectly with a Grand Marnier Crème Brûlée.
