It’s great to be able to announce the opening of a new restaurant and news of other new places during Restaurant Week.
The first item is that Cheddar’s Casual Cafe is now open on I-10 at Loop 1604. The chain restaurant offers sandwiches, salads, steaks and more.
According to a copy of the online menu, dishes include chicken-fried steak, chicken pot pie, smoked baby back ribs, grilled salmon, an aged rib-eye, steak and shrimp, and a series of burgers.
The original San Antonio Cheddar’s is at 7403 N.W. Loop 410. Another Cheddar’s opens in Selma during the third week of September.

Drew’s is coming soon
The signs are up that the space that was once home to Reggiano’s and Watermark Grill will house a new restaurant. It will be called Drew’s, An American Grill, and the restaurant is now hiring.
When I drove by Tuesday night, no one was around, but it’s obvious plenty of work is being done to the place. The restaurant’s website promises more to come in the future, but right now features nothing other than the name.
The restaurant is at 18740 Stone Oak Parkway.
