Culinaria Jazz Festival Starts Saturday

Culinaria, San Antonio’s wine, food and spirits festival, is once again presenting Summer Jazz at the Falls, held in the Shops at La Cantera, 15900 La Cantera Parkway.

The free concert series features national jazz musicians performing in the area of the plaza near Barnes & Noble and the Yard House. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and people are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.

The lineup this summer includes:

  • Aug. 20 — Peter White, jazz fusion guitarist, gained famed for his distinctive guitar style as accompanist to Al Stewart and has collaborated with Basia, the Rippingtons, Boney James, Richard Elliot, Gerald Albright and Grover Washington Jr.
  • Aug. 27 — Saxophonist Will Donato and guitarist Blake Aaron will perform together. Donato frequently tours with his own band, the Art of Sax, while Aaron, a TV and film composer, is a session guitarist.
  • Sept. 3 — Joseph Vincelli, saxophonist and flutist, has recorded and toured with Buddy Miles, Ice Cube, Bobby Goldsboro, Jerry Vale and Burt Reynolds. He has also written films scores and commercial jingles.

No outside coolers are allowed. Chairs can be set up one hour prior to the show.
