River Walk Light-Up: A Few Good Seats!

Achiote:

Achiote at the Grand Hyatt, 600 E. Market St., is having a dinner buffet from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday in conjunction with the Lighting of the River.

Dishes in the salad bar include organic mixed greens, Latin antipasto display, Shrimp-Orzo Pasta Salad, Mango-Jícama Salad, Chicken-Napa Salad, seasonal fruit salad, lobster bisque, guacamole and chips, and breads. A choice of entrées will be Petite Filet Mignon with a Port Ginger Reduction;  Airline Chicken Breast stuffed with tofu, vegetables and manchego;  Miso-glazed Chilean Sea Bass with a tequila-lime sauce; and Braised Lamb Shank with natural au jus. Seasonal mini-desserts will be offered.

Cost is $60 a person with seating inside,  $75 for patio seating and $100 for river’s edge seating. Tax and 18 percent tip will be added to each check.

Biga on the Banks:

The Lighting of the River Walk has been San Antonio’s magical gateway to the holidays  for 27 years.  It is the perfect time of year to slow down and enjoy the season without all the stress that frantic gift shopping and heavy holiday schedules can bring.

This year will be especially exciting.  Shedding new light on this Alamo City tradition will be 1.4 million LED bulbs.  Be among the first to bask in the holiday glow when they throw the switch at (approximately) 7 p.m.

Join Biga on the Banks, 203 St. St. Mary’s St., on Friday for The Lighting of the River.  We’ll be taking reservations as early as 5:30 p.m.  We will open our patio to give all our guests one of the best views of the parade in the city, dinner will only be served indoors.  Reservations for dinner can be made by calling 210-225-0722.

Get in the holiday spirit with Lüke

Join Lüke for the Ford Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony, Friday 25, from 6-10 p.m. with its front-row seats to the night’s festivities.

Ticket includes New Orleans-style, all-you-care-to-eat buffet, one alcoholic beverage and a reserved seat along the river to watch the one-hour parade featuring illuminated floats, bands and lavishly costumed participants.  Event cost is $50 per adult and $20 for children ages 12 and under, plus tax and gratuity.

La Mansión Pool Buffet

The buffet will be available from 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with cash bar until 9:00 p.m. Pricing includes: Adult: $32.95 per person; Children, 6 to 12 years: $16.95 per person; Children, 5 years and younger: complimentary buffet, $10 per person for river-front seat. Ostra

The following dining options are available from 5:30 p.m., during dinner service: Restaurant Interior: The regular  à la carte menu will be available, no food and beverage minimum required.
