Choco Patisserie, 13523 Nacogdoches Road, helped the city celebrate the 100th anniversary of the U.S. Army aviation Thursday by setting up a 100-foot cake in front of the Alamo.
Work began at 5 a.m. and volunteers from around the city showed up to help with the cake from baker Lynn Townsend. In all, more than 50 sheet cakes were laid out and decorated with flags.
The celebration drew a number of local celebrities, including Mayor Julián Castro, a three-star general and the oldest known veteran in San Antonio.
