Greek Funstival: St. Sophia Continues Tradition

Print Friendly

Greek music and folk dancing, shopping and sampling plenty of Greek food, is part of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church’s Greek Funstival.

This year’s event will be Friday, Oct. 19, 8-11 p.m.; Saturday Oct. 20, Noon- 11 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 21, Noon – 7 p.m. The church is at 2504. N. St. Mary’s at East Ashby.

The festival’s traditional shopping venue is the Agora Marketplace, where you can buy everything from jewelry and decorative items to olive trees and the St. Sophia Community Cookbook.

Food is a major attraction each year at Funstival, so look for the lines — you can sample souvlacki, Greek salad, chicken a la Grecque, gyros, dolmathes, as well as Greek pastries, desserts, coffee and wine.

There is a $3 gate admission for everyone 12 years and older. Children under 12 are free. To purchase food and drink, you must buy food and drink tickets when you arrive — prices are listed in the menu in the program flyer. These tickets are only for food and drink and cannot be used to buy anything else.
