Fried chickpea patties, or falafel, are served sandwich style with a delicious yogurt sauce.

Lebanese immigrants came to San Antonio in the late 1800s, bringing with them the cultural heritage they’ve preserved, and shared with the Alamo City ever since.

You can join in early next month when the San Antonio Lebanese Community of St. George Maronite Catholic Church hosts  their annual Lebanese Festival. This year’s festival is Friday, Nov. 2 through Sunday, Nov 4th. This is a fun-filled cultural celebration includes food, dancing, music and more. A Lebanese dance troupe along with live Lebanese music and drum beats are top draws to the festival, and they’ll be entertaining on both Friday and Saturday nights.

The festival will be at St. George Maronite Church and Center, 6070 Babcock Road, Leon Valley.
