Austin-based brewery Hops & Grain announces it is now bringing its sustainably brewed beers to stores in San Antonio and neighboring communities.
New distribution locations include two Spec’s locations in San Antonio and Broadway Central Market in Alamo Heights.
With brewer Adler Lentz, creator of Hops & Grain Josh Hare has turned his love for beer into a brewery, with a commitment to sustainable brewing practices.
Packaging the beers in aluminum cans, the most recyclable container available, donating to local non-profits and supporting community growers and producers are just a few ways Hare sticks to his sustainable ideals.
“We are incredibly excited about expanding our distribution to other markets in Texas. We very much look forward to spreading our passion for craft beer and our commitment to running a sustainable business to our friends in the San Antonio markets. Our goal since day one has never been one of exponential growth, but rather expanding our reach, guided by the demand of our customers.”
Among the Hops & Grain beers being brought to the San Antonio area are the Pale Dog and the Alt-eration.
The Pale Dog, a pale ale with a strong aroma and balanced bitterness, uses Centennial to provide a grapefruit character with a touch of piney spice and finishes, with Cascade and Columbus hops to deliver on the citrus and tropical complex.
The Alt-eration is a German-style beer, using old world techniques and blending German Pilsner malt with hefty portions of Munich and Vienna. Hopped with German Hallertauer and Czech Saaz, it provides a classy bitterness with a clean, spicy hop flavor and aroma. A third can will be added to the Hops & Grain lineup later this year entitled, The One They Call Zoe.
