So, what’s new?
We have replaced the daily email blast with a newsletter. It will be coming out several times a week. You’ll see the name Phillip Kent in your email inbox. Phillip is our (new) ad sales, marketing and social media director, and we’re happy to have him!

Everyone who signs up for the newsletter will have their name entered in a weekly drawing to win a copy of the (sort of new) “Food Lovers’ Guide to San Antonio” by SavorSA co-founders John Griffin and Bonnie Walker. This drawing will go over a period of weeks. If you already receive the newsletter — you’re automatically entered to win a book.
We’ll also want to thank writers and friends who have become regular contributors: We appreciate their energy, knowledge and of course, writing abilities. Troy Knapp, executive chef and sommelier at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort & Spa, finds time to write a wine column, Spectacular Brilliance, and we think it is just that.
Our longtime friend, Cecil Flentge, former owner of the popular north side wine bar, The Tasting Room, teaches classes on food and wine, and is as devoted a professional as we know. He brings us wine knowledge and tips in a casual format – and if SavorSA had a test kitchen, we’d put him in charge.
