Copa Wine Bar, 19141 Stone Oak Parkway, is celebrating the convergence of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah (Thanksgivukkah) this year with a dinner that honors all the Balaboostas (Jewish housewives) of the world. It is set for 7 p.m. Nov. 21.
Even though it’s not kosher, each dish is inspired by a traditional Jewish holiday dish.
The evening starts with Lox & Matzo (smoked salmon served layered over a creamy caper cream cheese and caviar on top of a crisp matzo cracker). It’s paired with your choice of Mayu Sauvignon Blanc or Shiner Premium Lager.
Kreplach Soup (farmers’ cheese-stuffed dumpling served in a rich onion broth) is served with either Sean Minor “4 Bears” Pinot Noir or Sam Adams Tasman Red IPA.
Manischewitz Brisket (slow-roasted brisket canoodling next to a noodle kugel) is partnered with either Rickshaw Cabernet Sauvignon or Newcastle Brown Ale.
And last is a Coconut Macaroon Bread Pudding with Penfolds Club Tawny Port or Coco Negro.
The price is $50 including tax and tip. But seating is limited. Call (210) 495-COPA (2672).
