Mother’s Day arrives on May 10, so it’s time to think of how you’re going to thank Mom for all she’s done for you. One way you can show your appreciation is by taking her out for a special meal. Plenty of restaurants in the San Antonio area are willing to help out, as the following menus amply show.

Just remember to make reservations. And all prices listed below do not include tax or tip.

Asado Seafood & Grill at the Hilton San Antonio Airport, 611 N.W. 410, (210) 377-4653 — Mother’s Day brunch is served 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Buffet features include salads, smoked salmon and gravlax, oysters, peel and eat shrimp, crab claws, hickory-smoked prime rib, grilled salmon, an omelet station, vegetable stuffed chicken, crepes, French toast and more. Prices are $29.95 for adults, $24.95 for seniors and $14.94 for children.

MomBiga on the Banks, 203 S. St. Mary’s St., (210) 255-0722 — Brunch will be served 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entrees like Roasted Ribeye of Beef, green chili tomatillo pork stew with queso fresco, and warm Scottish salmon crepes with egg vinaigrette share the spot light with more breakfast-style offerings including a Maine Lobster Frittata and a Biga take on Eggs Benedict. Then you can help yourself to an array of appetizers, salads, muffins, sushi, antipasto and a host of different desserts. There is also a kids’ dessert table. Prices are $59 for adults and $27 for children.

Boiler House Texas Grill & Wine Garden, 312 Pearl Parkway, (210) 354-4644 — Mother’s Day brunch is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chef Jeff White has a series of specials in addition to the regular menu. They include: Boiler House Monte Cristo served with Foie Gras Peanut Butter, Smoked Strawberry Jam, Salted Caramel Bananas and Candied Walnuts for $15; Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Fresh Lemon Curd, Raspberry and Southern Chantilly Cream for $14;  Cracklin Crusted Soft Shell Crab with Local Bluebonnet Farms Watercress, Radish and Old Bay Hollandaise for $17;  Brisket Biscuits and Gravy made with House Smoked Brisket, Buttermilk Jalapeño Biscuits, House-made Pickles, Aged Cheddar and Bacon Gravy for $14;  and Lobster “Cobb Salad” made with Butter Poached Lobster, Crispy Pork Belly, Hard Boiled Egg and Peppercress for $19.

Copa Wine Bar, 19141 Stone Oak Parkway, (210) 495-2672 — Mother’s Day brunch is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Features include: Popover Bar including Bacon, Sausage, Shirred Eggs, Gravy, Shrimp Newburg and more; Waffle Station including Carrot Cake Waffles, Cinnamon Roll Waffles, Chocolate Brownie Waffles; Home Fry Bar with fresh home fries, and tons of different toppers including all sorts of veggies, scrambled eggs, brisket, and pulled pork; a coffee bar; Bottomless Mimosas, Micheladas and Sangria; and more. The price is $25 a person.

Crumpets, 3920 Harry Wurzbach, (210) 821-5454 — Mother’s Day brunch is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Multi-course brunch options include a choice of appetizer, salad, vegetable, bread, dessert, and choice of coffee, tea, wine and champagne. Entrée choices include Shrimp Salad, Eggs Benefict or Chicken Breast with Champagne Sauce ($29.50 each); Veal Scaloppini, Fresh Alaskan Salmon, Beef Ribeye or Shrimp Lyonnaise ($39.50 each); or Trilogy of Beef Tenderloin, Lobster Tail and Rack of Lamb ($49.50). A children’s menu with tortellini or chicken breast with salad or dessert is available for $12.50. A special dinner menu will be offered Saturday, May 9, from 5:30 to 11 p.m. and Sunday, May 10, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Citrus at the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, 150 East Houston St. (210) 230-8412 — Mothers Day brunch will be prepared by chef Robbie Nowlin and his great team. The buffet menu includes an array of artisanal charcuterie, oysters, grilled artichoke antipasti, brioche french toast, citrus eggs Benedict, truffled macaroni and cheese gratin, pan-seared Atlantic salmon, slow-roasted prime beef ribeye chimichurri, roasted airline turkey breast, caramelized white chocolate custard macadamia streusel and much more. Seating is 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (last seating is at 2:30 p.m.) Prices are $69.95 for adults and $34.95 for kids 6-12.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, 255 E. Basse Road, (210) 824-9463 — Mother’s Day brunch is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The prix fixe menu begins with a choice lobster bisque, a Modern Caesar or seasonal fruits, followed by a choice of Eggs Benedict, baked brioche French toast, prime rib with a trio of sauces, a blue crab omelet or a porcini-crusted filet mignon. Dessert choices: white chocolate bread pudding, walnut turtle pie or cheesecake. Price: $39.95 a person.

Fogo de Chao, 849 E. Commerce St., (210) 227-1700 — Mother’s Day hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the full array of roasted meats plus salad bar available. Mothers will receive a gift card for a free meal on their next visit.

Frederick’s Restaurant: 7701 Broadway, 210-828-9050; Frederick’s Bistro: 14439 NW Military Highway, 210-888-1500 — The Mother’s Day brunch includes numerous appetizer choices: Cold Cucumber Smoked Salmon Dill ($8); Frederick’s Oysters Casino ($11); Smoked Duck Breast with Mango and Apple Asian Salad ($9); Crab Cake Served with Mixed Greens and Tartar Sauce ($15); Spring Rolls Served In Lettuce Cup with Fresh Mint and Cilantro ($11); Duck Liver Mousse Platter ($8); Baked Brie and Goat Cheese In Puff Pastry ($9); and Flash Fried Brussels Sprouts with Asian Spices ($8). Gristmill River Restaurant and Bar, 1287 Gruene Road, New Braunfels, (830) 606-1281  — The Gristmill is open Mother’s Day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The menu includes favorites such as Beef Tenderloin Salad with creamy vinaigrette, Pepper Filet with herb-lime butter, and the Gruene Country Club with special prime sauce.  Jack Daniel’s Pecan Pie, Fudge Pie, or Strawberry Shortcake for dessert.  For the more casual celebration have one of our juicy burgers or famous chicken fried steaks with cream gravy.  

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa, 9800 Hyatt Resort Drive, (210) 767-7999 — The brunch will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with seatings every half hour. Highlights from the extensive buffet include a breakfast bar with made-to-order cage-free omelets, French toast action station, antipasti, a salad buffet, a seafood kiosk with chilled shrimp and crab claws, a pasta station and dessert bar. Hot entrees include pan-seared airline chicken, blackened red fish, and wild mushrooms with spinach and cognac cream. The carving station will include slow-roasted and smoked pepper crusted prime bison strip loin, butterflied leg of lamb and  10-bone pork loin rack Adults, $63; seniors 60+, $49; children 6-12, $26.

Kirby’s San Antonio, 123 N. Loop 1604 E., (210) 404-2221  — Mother’s Day hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Kirby’s is giving away a $50 gift certificate good only on Mother’s Day: To enter, share a picture of you and your mom or with your children via Facebook. Winner will be chosen on Monday, May 4. Use the hashtag, #MothersDayatKirbysSa.

J-Prime Steakhouse, 1401 N. Loop 1604 W., (210) 764-1604 — Mother’s Day brunch is from 11 a.m.  to 3 p.m. Executive chef Chris Brooks has created a menu that includes a custom omelet station, carved turkey and prime rib, fresh seafood, a salad station, meats and cheese, artisanal pastries, bottomless mimosas and more. Price is $39.95 a person.

Las Canarias at the Omni La Mansion del Rio, 112 College St., (210) 518-1063 —Mother’s Day brunch is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The extensive buffet features eggs and omelets made to order, bacon, sausages, bananas foster, quiche, chilled shrimp, crab claws, smoked salmon, salads, charcuterie, blackened red fish, roasted breast of chicken, beef skirt steak, prime rib, center cut pork loin, turkey and desserts. Price is $72 for adults and $36 for children ages 6-12.

Liberty Bar, 1111 S. Alamo St., (210) 227-1187  — Brunch with specials and the regular menu runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with dinner continuing until midnight.

Little Gretel, 518 River Road, Boerne, (830) 331-1368 — Sunday brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Menu highlights include eggs Benedict, poached egg on crab cake, omelets, French toast, buttermilk pancakes, steak and eggs, and more.

Mom1Luce Ristorante e Enoteca, 11255 Huebner Road, (210) 561-9700 —Mother’s Day hours are noon to 5 p.m. In addition to the regular menu, there is a three-course special for $39.95. It includes a choice of Caesar Salad or Caprese Salad, followed by Roasted Prime Eye of the Rib with Rosemary Yukon Gold Potatoes and Toasted Garlic Spinach. Dessert choices: Spumoni, Tiramisu, Crème Brûlée or Chocolate Lava Torta with Vanilla Gelato.

Market on Houston at Sheraton-Gunter Hotel, 205 E. Houston St., (210) 554-1721 — Mother’s Day brunch is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features items such as Sambal Shrimp, Fried Chicken & Waffles, Farm Raised Kobe Burger, Crab Louie Benedict, Breakfast Crepes, Hickory Smoked Brisket Hash and more. Or you can treat Mom to a three-course dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. It’s priced at $35 a person. The menu includes Chilled Cucumber Mint Soup or Grilled Shrimp Cocktail to start with. Entree choices include Grilled Boar Medallions, Redfish en Papillote or Chicken Fra Diavolo. Dessert choices: Brulee trio, and Primavera Berries with mango mousse.

Max’s Wine Dive, 340 E. Basse Road, (210) 444-9547 — Brunch hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mother’s Day. In addition to the regular menu, specials include: Ultimate Steak & Eggs made with Roasted Prime Rib over Jalapeño Cheesy Grits, Two Poached Eggs and Chipotle Hollandaise for $25;  Crab Cake Benedict made with Gulf Crab Cakes, Pulled Pork Belly and Two – Poached Eggs on Toasted Brioche with Roasted Tomato Remoulade Served with Home Fries for $19;  Mediterranean Seared Salmon Salad made with Butter Lettuce, Egg, Applewood-Smoked Bacon, Toasted Almonds, Asparagus, Piquilo Peppers, and Cherry Tomatoes Tossed in a White Balsamic topped with a Mediterranean Marinated Seared Salmon  and finished with a dollop of Dill Saffron Aioli for $18; and  Cast Iron Mexican Chocolate Sticky Buns topped with Candied Pecans and Dulce de Leche Icing for $7.

Mike’s in the Village, 2355-3 Bulverde Road, Bulverde, (830) 438-2747 — Mother’s Day brunch will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. First course is a choice of Caprese salad, house salad or ceviche, followed by a choice of shrimp, andouille sausage and grits; coffee-crusted grilled pork tenderloin; fried chicken and waffles; broiled salmon; or petite filet topped with caramelized onions. Dessert choices: white chocolate bread pudding, chocolate cheesecake or balsamic and strawberry shortcake. Moms get a free champagne drink. Children’s menu also available. Price is $28.95 for adults or $7.95 for children ages 10 and younger.

Mimi’s Cafe, 17315 I-10 W., (210) 877-5792 — Mimi’s is offering a three-course menu for $16.99, which includes a choice of Soup, Salad or Croissant/Muffin as well as a choice of Brioche French Toast; Egg, Spinach and Cheese Crepes; Santa Fe Omelet; Chicken Chop Salad; Quiche Florentine; and Brioche Cheeseburger. Dessert is a Triple Croissant Bread Pudding made with a chocolate and almond croissant, salted caramel and whipped cream. Mothers can also enjoy $5 Mimi-Mosas made with fresh-squeezed orange juice and a Tangerine burst, while their children color a special menu, which doubles as a Mother’s Day Card.  To continue the celebration throughout the day, Mimi’s Cafe will gift each guest with an individually wrapped Blackberry Muffin Square to go.

Morton’s the Steakhouse, 300 E. Crockett St., (210) 228-0700 — The Mother’s Day special is a steak and lobster combination for $55 a person. Dinner hours are 5 to 10 p.m.

Oak Valley Vineyards, 27315 Natural Bridge Road, (830) 980-8033  — The Mother’s Day brunch buffet includes Prime Rib English Cut, Yorkshire Pudding Aus Ju, Honey Baked Ham With Orange Zest and Mint Sauce, Cilantro Lime Chicken over Spinach, Portabella Mushroom Ravioli, Fresh Salmon, Eggs Benedict, Herb Mashed Potatoes, Hill Country Hash Smoked Gouda/Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese, Medley of Seasonal Vegetables and Assorted Mixed Salads. The price is $35 a person, or $15 or children 12 and younger. Call for hours.

Mom2The Omni San Antonio Colonnade, 9821 Colonnade Blvd., (210) 691-8888 — Mother’s Day brunch is from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the last seating at 2 p.m. Breakfast items include Apple-wood Smoked Bacon, House Smoked Country Sausage, Eggs Benedict Florentine, Roasted Tomato Hash and Mascarpone Cheese Blintz with Grilled Peach Devonshire. An omelet station, seasonal fruit, chef-prepared salads and cheese, fresh breads, a seafood display and desserts will be offered. Hot entrees and carved-to-order items include Bourbon Marinated Pork with Whole Grain Mustard Reduction, Lemon Pepper White Fish with Rooftop Herb Veloute, Grilled Chicken Provencal with Veal Bone Reduction, Roasted Texas Root Vegetables, Redneck Cheddar Mash and Chives, Oven Roasted Prime Rib with Herbed Pan Drippings and Pepper Crusted Bone-In Leg of Lamb. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, milk, mimosas and Champagne included. Prices are $53 for adults, $46 for seniors 65+, and $24 for children 5-11.

Q Kitchen | Bar at the Hyatt Regency, 123 Losoya St., (210) 510-4477 — The Mother’s Day brunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dishes on the buffest include Chilled Prawns, Marinated Mussels,  Half Shell Oysters, salads, Sunchoke and Leek Bisque, Omelets Cooked to Order, Smoked Berkshire Pork Hash, Chocolate Spiked Pancakes with Grand Marnier-Infused Maple Syrup, Chicken Jalapeno Sausage, Smoked Bacon, Antipasto Display, Roasted Pacific Halibut, Smoked Chicken Breast with Blueberry BBQ Sauce, Achiote Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Charred Pepper Sauce, Sea Salt and Tri Color Peppercorn Crusted Beef Rib-Eye, Heritage Bone-In Ham, desserts and sweets. Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard, 25195 Mathis Road, Elmendorf, (210) 621-0044 —Mother’s Day brunch at the olive orchard will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The special menu includes four courses, starting with your choice of White Grape Gazpacho or Corn Bisque, followed by either a Beet and Pear Salad or a Caesar Salad. Entrée choices: Baked Salmon with grilled asparagus and garlic mash potatoes or Grilled Chicken Alfredo with a warm baguette. Dessert choices are Chocolate Mocha Cake or Homemade Scones and Jellies. A children’s menu is available. Prices are $32 for adults and $12 for children under 12.

mothers day2Stone Werks, various locations — Celebrate Mother’s Day with a special brunch and drink menu, available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drink specials include $2.75 Mimosas, Sangria, and Bloody Marys. A flower will be provided for each mother while supplies last.

Sustenio at the Eilan Hotel and Spa, 18603 La Cantera Terrace, (210) 598-2950 — Sustenio will host a Mother’s Day brunch in the Incanto Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The buffet will include a Local Artisan Cheese Display with Charcuterie and Marinated Olives, Seasonal Fruit, Smoked Salmon, salads, Poached Jumbo Shrimp, Crab Claws and Gulf Oysters, Churro Waffles, Crispy Cinnamon Sugar Waffles, Buttermilk Biscuits n’ Pork Belly Gravy, Applewood Smoked Bacon and Country Sausage, Cheesy House-made Sausage Casserole, Eggs, House-made Spicy Sausage, Tillamook Cheddar, Grilled Salmon, Honey Dusted Sous-vide Fried Chicken, Central Texas Farm Vegetable Ragout, Pimento Mac n’ Cheese, Mashed Potato Creation Station, Chef’s Omelet Station, Garlic Crusted Prime Rib, Ancho Maple Roasted Pork Steamship and Chef’s Display of Pastries and Desserts. Texas de Brazil, 313 E. Houston St., (210) 229-1600  — Mother’s Day hours begin at 11 a.m. The regular array of meats will be offered as well as the salad bar. All mothers will receive a gift card for a complimentary lunch or dinner to use on a subsequent visit.

Whiskey Cake, 15900 La Cantera Parkway, (210) 236-8095 — Mother’s Day hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Brunch items include Eggs Benedict, Pork Belly Ramen, Jumbo Grilled Shrimp, Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes, BBQ Banh Mi and more.
